The Chorus is a French movie. After watching the movie, I feel that education should be taught by love but not only punishment. The main actor in the movie has successfully bring out the issue that punishment can be apply in another way.
Teachers in school even kindy teacher will always punish the children who are naughty to face the wall or beating them. It is quite familiar with the story line in the movie. I think punsuhment only evoke somebody to rebellion on the same action, "action-reaction" in the movie doesn't work effectively. People took punishment such as--beating, locked into a dark room as "daily meal". They doesn't take lesson from the punishment. Actually the meaning of punishment is to make the person who did wrong know what he or she did is wrong.
From the psychological view, human is like that--as much you dont allow him to do, he will rebellion!
Different people suit to different solution. For example, Pierre, the boy who has talent in singing, soft method punishment is more suitable for him. The new teacher, Mattheau do not punish the boy as previous teacher do. He punished him not to sing. It like a very suffer things if you stop a person who likes singing to sing. I think nobody like to be punished. Maybe students disobey the rules to stand for their view or maybe they want to get somebody attention.
I appreciate the songs in this movie. It is very sweet and clear.
The parents always busy until neglected their children. The cute boy, Peppinot always waiting at the gate to hope that his father will come to fetch him on Saturday. Finally, the cute boy left the school with teacher Mattheau.
Sometimes it is good to tell lie. I am not say that we should tell lie as much as possible. Teacher Mattheau want to protect Pierre, give chance to Pierre so he told lie to his mother. Telling a lie sometime better than telling a truth. It should depands on the condition too.
I think this is my opinion about the movie. Will be continue later if I have any idea to add in.
